Removing DIN Radio
Hello,
I have the typical DIN and a half radio in my '98 Explorer Sport. I was wondering if there is a way to get the radio out without having to buy the DIN Tools?? I think I read on here that you can use coat hanger wire but I did not work for me, I think I did it wrong? Any help is appreciated. __________________ 1998 Sport, 4x4, K&N Filter, E3 Diamond Fire Plugs, Magnecore 8mm Wires, Screamin Demon Coil, 2.5" Flowmaster Catback, 255/70/16 tires, Performance 5R55E VB, Royal Purple synthetic lubricants, Zabteck breather bypass, 4.10 gears, Warrior Shackles, EBC Brakes. |

Hey Lazz, you may want to give this a shot.
Go to your local Circuit City (or equivalent), tell them you need 5 minutes for one of their guys to walk out to your truck and pop the radio out. Just tell them it's a ford factory radio, they'll know what you mean (hopefully )Done that a few times with company vehicles and they always accomodate(for free). They aren't that expensive of a tool though, maybe you should pick one up just to have on hand. I've got 2 sets I think. __________________ --Jim 2000 XLS 4X4 OHV Hotrod -- SOLDTwisted, shackled and ready to roll. 31" Pro-comp AT's, Rancho RSX shocks, BBK Throttle Body, Volant intake Panasonic CQ-C8100 deck, MTX FEX10A sub Infinity Reference 6810cs components and 6812cf speakers Diamond corners and heads, Altezza Tails, Grillcraft grilles Last edited by jimcom; 06-27-2006 at 06:28 AM. |

They're like $4.00 at AutoZone.

Shoot for half that I'd have mailed you one of my sets. But save yourself a few bucks and pick one up local, or like I said, ask a guy at circuit city to do it for ya. __________________ --Jim 2000 XLS 4X4 OHV Hotrod -- SOLDTwisted, shackled and ready to roll. 31" Pro-comp AT's, Rancho RSX shocks, BBK Throttle Body, Volant intake Panasonic CQ-C8100 deck, MTX FEX10A sub Infinity Reference 6810cs components and 6812cf speakers Diamond corners and heads, Altezza Tails, Grillcraft grilles |
