Sport Trac Radio Help

Hi Friends,
I have the 2003 Sport Trac. I have no volume coming from the left speakers. I ran the self test and it said speaker short. Do you have any suggestions on where to start. It has the stock Pioneer CD-6 system with no modifications. Any help appreciated. The previous owner had Sat Radio installed but the dealership removed it. Could that lead to a problem?
Also I am looking for the keyless code for the door pad. I have looked at some of the threads concerning this and most offer help for the explorer, not the Sport Trac. Thanks.
