Ok, I finally was given a pair of BFG ATs. These are 265/75/16. I have only been onroad with them and have had no rubbing. They said I have about a 1/4" left before they rub. :) We will see what happens when I hit the trail.

So, I put the ruler upside down, but you get the picture. I gained two inches.

1/4 well **** I guess that means I can't get my Interco's. That 1/4 inch would be taken up by the lugs. I guess I'll have to settle for some Mud-terrains.

You can definately tell a difference in the ride height.

My company does through tires faster than Diesel. One of the engineers wanted new tires, so he gave me the old ones. Our secretary's husband runs a Goodyear shop, so. $50 for unmounting old ones, mounting and balancing the new ones.
Just a note, the spare tire is pretty much jammed up between the hitch and the fuel tank when you put a 265 up there.

Those look great. They are exactely the size and type of tires I was thinking of putting on my '05 XLS.

so have you been offroad with them yet? I was just wondering if that 1/4" was enough for no rubbing?

I have been off the road quite a bit. I have never had them rub with the wheel cranked, and all the way up or down in the wheel well. They do subtract from the handling, and the ride is a bit rougher with 7ply. But, I have got myself out of places I was two-wheelin with my stockers. It is a good investment, but I still run into problems. The major issue is still the down travel. I have never run into a clearance issue, just slipping from no traction. I could go many more places if I had a locker. That would solve about 75% of my off-road problems.

A locker and a decent transmission would make the 3rd gen a really nice truck.

So, I found the locker I want for my rear Diff. I am not going to change it out to a 7.33 gears though. The locker should be about $600-$700. I am just going to see what that does for me. As soon as I can scrape that together, I am going to put it in. Might not be for 6 months though. I will keep it posted.

That's a lot of gear!!! :D 3.73 I suppose. :p

Yeah I'd sat with 7.33 gears you gas milage would go out the window. Not to mention your topspeed would be all of 45mph. I'd say he meant 3.73

Yeah, what those guys said.

Alignment

I'm currently purchasing 265/75/16 BF M/T. I was wondering if you needed an alignment or any other adjustments?

nah its not necessary.... the only time u would need a realignment is if u have suspension work done.. changign tires wont need it

I want to put that size on my 02 just wanted to know how much that hurt the performance of the truck can you tell?

im running 255s rite now and the speedo is dead on with a GPS and the shift points seem normal... im guessing the speedo may be off a tad with the 265s but as far as shift points i think itll still perform smoothly

I havent gotten them on yet it will be about 2 weeks. I have been lookin at the Yokohama Geolandar M/T Plus also, does anyone have any experience or feedback on them.

one thing about them, theyre pretty good and all but theyre directional... if u ever have to go in reverse in mud, they will cake up like theres no tomorrow... just throwing it out there dude

Looks good - I think yours looks better (i.e. BIGGER) than the other 265s I've seen because of the wheels. Seems like yours have a little more dish to them than the ones I have.
