Started on the exhaust. Cut the old one off. that's about it cuss I got lazy.

Put the new volant air filter on. (Longer by 2 inches). Maybe a little more throttle responce but really no gain to be noticed. Didn't really expect one but wanted to make sure the smaller filters that we're limited to cuss of space wasn't a restriction. It's not.

If you want to go over the stock pulley (5 lb boost) you will need new injectors and fuel pump.

Is an adapter needed to fit it, or will the unit sit just fine?

http://www.candmnovelties.com/ Hey, go to this site and look at his diary.

He's hardly over what can be done with other aftermarket bolt-ons, and he has a supercharger. His base was 153HP and the final result from what I could tell was 216HP.

QUOTE "D) My (3rd) run on December 5, 2005 with the additional changes of installing a “Flowmaster Super 40 with 3” inlet and 2- 2 ½” outlets out the side lightning style, and increasing the air inlet tube to 3 ½” od. An increase to 216 hp and 250 lb. Ft. torque. This relates to a gain of (63 hp and 74 lb. Ft. torque)."

Amazingly similar to the C&L Housing and has a removable air orifice calibration tube. Cheaper as well.

Yeah, that tube is removable, but the top hole has to be recessed for an Explorer's MAFS to fit in there. This is why only the C&L will fit, that I've seen.

Is the hole where the o-ring seats the same?

90% of my time in the truck is on the street. Makes it easy for me (to decide) to look at it this way.

I should have the exhaust on in the next week or so. Then maybe a different MAF, then tune (JAH, hook me up!), then the electric fan, pulleys...ect..THEN, just maybe a dyno.

Then need to look at a different rear-end and get the truck ready to handle the BIG power. (Big for me that is) Freshen up the engine, and supercharge. Might need to freshen up the tranny? The truck actually runs pretty good right now, in my opinion, but don't want to blow anything.

That 8.8 will handle that "big power" without a problem. Your tranny should be able to handle it as well. Focus your money on what might go wrong..your engine.

I've learned the weak link are the stock pistons. I have a plan.

Turbo or supercharger? Hmmmm. Yes I will take one serving of turbocharged power.. Ok would really love 2 servings of turbocharged power(twins) but one will do. As far as the rear. You have a 8.8 with 31t axles (same as the 03-04) Cobra problems not really. You'll have to worry about other probs before this rear calls it quits.-James

Oh Yeah. Will definatey help with the tuning..
Good luck with your build!

Honestly, I really wasn't concered for the rear end breaking, more concerned about only one wheel spinning. I'll need traction off the line in order to beat rocket5979. just kidding, i'll never be that fast...ever...
