US 2006 Oil Change Required Reset

I searched a previous thread about this but it didnt have a real clear answer. The manual doesnt say much but how do you get rid of OIL CHANGE REQURED message. This is my 2nd oil change and I didnt have any problem resetting it the first time its almost like there is something wrong (probably operator). Any detailed help would be helpful(Ive already got the oil life % reset but not the other message.)

I would also like to know. I have been getting the reminder since 2000 miles. It drives me nuts...it doesn't need an oil change until 5000 miles...right???

rpr, it goes by time as well as mileage. At 6 months, It signals an oil change also. Mine was on when we bought it.

I think you may have to be in park to get it to 'stick'. I finally cleared it after several attempts.

Check the manual...it contains detailed instructions. First time a vehicle manual actually helped me with an issue.

It's not an intuitive process. Followed the instructions and got mine to reset...should not be triggered again for another 5,000 miles (per "100%" setting).
