2002 explorer xlt headrest removal

the subject line pretty much says it. i'm trying to take off my headrests from my second row 60/40 seats and i'm having no luck. is there a switch somewhere that i just don't see? also . . . .is there a way to gain access to the headrest holes inside the seat? basically i'm wondering if there's a way to get the upholstery off of the seat without damaging anything. thanks for the help.

I think there is a little hole in them that you can stick a paper clip in. Something along those lines. I can't remember though.
