I finally got them installed yesterday, I think they turned out looking great, I'll wait and break them in about 500 miles or so before I see what they can do, Im sure snow is right around the corner! As you can see there was just about 1 inch of clearance left. That is with the wheel turned all the way in.

They look nice!
Have you done any calibration stuffs, ie. speedo cal?

No not yet, I will probably call Ford and see what theyw oudl charge me since I do not have the equipment to do it myself

man thats beautiful... lovin the revos...

i wish i would have gone with 265s if i woulda known it wasnt gunna affect my speedo... i went with 255s and regret it much

yeah I agree, 235 was way too small! I wish I could have gone one more size bigger but 265 is great. fits perfectly. My speedo seems a bit off, maybe 3-4 miles/hour at most, something I can live with for now, but I will definetly have it adjusted soon. The REVOS have been great so far, had a heavy rain this evening, and coming back from the Cavaliers game the EX ran through some large standing water. It didnt pull hard at all!

I am curious if you noticed these larger tires hurting your accelleration at all?

for me i noticed a bit of power loss down low for shure but not too noticable up high. it seemes to down shift more trying to find a the right gear now, but after the bigger tires i put a cold air intake on which definetly helped a bit in acceleration and gas milage but the loss of power was worth it for larger tires. these things are as slow as hell anyway so whats the diffrence in a slight loss of acceleration. if i was worried about power i'd still be driving my modded mustang:p:

No major loss yet, but I have been off work the past two days so I have not had it on the highway for a decent amount of time.

Yeah its kind of embarassing.. the new Toyota Rav4's offer a 3.5l V6 with 270 hp that will absolutely stomp the 4.0 in the Explorer. C'mon ford get with the program...you have a displacement advantage and you're still losing..

To answer the power question, I have not noticed any loss of power. I dont really "punch" the accelerator much except when I have to beat traffic during heavy congestion. I did however notice the transmission shifting issues that 4.0 explained, but after about 200 miles of driving it seems as though the computer has adjusted and now its shifts fine. It wasnt a major issue, the tranny just kept trying to shift either early or late when upshifting or downshifting, but now its fine.

Hello Dannyb420-love the look of the A/T Revo's. Since you have seen rain, snow & dry driving now- I am curious how you would rate this tire for noise & ride quality? I am looking to put this sizes( P265-70R-16) on my 2000 sport but unsure if this tire or another will be my choice. How is it for quiet and road feel? It does look good on your Explorer. Thanks for your help and opinion

looks good man! thats sooo the size tire that should have come on 3rd gen explorers.

Actually 265/70/17 is the size that should have come on 3rd gens!!

I live in Cleveland, we have something unique called "Lake Effect" snow. It is only found in the northeast ohio, Erie PA, Buffalo NY area. We just got over 15" of snow dumped in our area and I have not had to put my Ex in 4x4 yet! Prior to this we had a mild winter start and got tons of rain, lots of flooding. I have found it to go though water very well, I think this is where the tire excels. dry is also very good. I drive very aggressively, and find the tires do very well. Overall the tires are better then the Michelin cross terrain I had originally which were a good tire. The one advice I have taken from a friend is I have them rotated and balanced a bit more frequently. I have never had a problem that has led me to do this but I want to ensure a nice even wear and have heard that a bigger tire size can sometimes wear abnormally. I personally love the tire and do not regret the choice. Oh yeah, about the road noise. I have no more road noise then the OE Michelins.

Thanks for the info dannyb420.The tread on those tire looks to be a great combination & the sidewall lettering is perfect for an Explorer. Thanks for your input and appreciate your comments. Best to you with the new tires - you have a sweet ride there, man.

Thanks,
Its mostly stock, with just some minor upgrades, but I do pamper it to death, I try to take the best care of it as possible.
