Signal Mirrors for 06 Explorer (LED Arrows)

Has anyone done this, or thought about doing that. Also, how difficult and how long do you think it would take to do something like this?

Haven't done it...but have thought about it. Wouldn't be very hard at all once you found the respective turn signal wires to tap into. I'm not a fan of the stick-on chevrons...kinda tacky IMO. I would also be afraid the glue would break down over time with my heated mirrors.

If I were going to do it, I would either add small LED rope lights onto the inside of the mirror housing (below the actual mirror).....or replace the entire mirror with a more OEM look such as these http://www.accessconnect.com/ford_signal_mirrors.htm. They also offer heated versions....though nothing specific for newer X's....so would need to find another model with similar dimensions. Check out the sample install instructions on that site for a F-250....will give you the basic idea.

Sorry, gh67, I don't even know where I got GHB lol. Nonetheless, does anyone know where the fuse box is. I am kinda knew to all of this and I dont want to explode my car messing with things I do not know lol. So could someone give me a quick run through on how I would install these lights onto the mirror and run the wires into the fuse box from both sides?

Nicely done! This is definitely the way to go for a true OEM look....though I've yet to see any for 4th gens.
