that sounds like a pretty good price! Better than summit racing

thats better than any ive seen, id go for it

yup buy it

Ok looks like 4wheelonline has it for $149.94 + $19 shipping plus I need the manual ext for another $50...now that I'm thinking about it, is it still possible to use my grill guard after the body lift? I'm thinking it might not line up, cuz it'll still be bolted to the frame. Anybody been able to get it to work before?

Body lift?

Weren't you posting in another thread how you were sick of getting horrible mpg's and wanted to make your truck into a gas/electric hybrid?

Well I wouldn't want it to be a boring hybrid, right? So does anybody know about how to get around the issue and still use a grill guard?

there is a way, ive seen pics of people with the grill guard after the body lift...

So any updates yet??? I just started a new part-time job so I've got some extra money I'm looking to spend on my truck...anybody find it cheaper? I also remember seeing diagrams somewhere on here for building the new bumper brackets. Anybody know where that is? Finally, does anyone know where I can get pointers and/or a diagram to make a bracket to reposition my grill guard after the body lift? Thanks for all the help and I'm looking forward to posting pics of the work once I do this.

Wouldn't it look so much better with another 3 inches of lift?

Bump

ditch the grill guard or dont use a bodylift.... grill guards do nothing, and with a bodylift you are going to have to make some funky brackets to do anything.....

jsut leave the truck alone... you want better gas mileage but wnat to raise it? why? are you putting 3" of bodylift only to use the same size tires? or bigger? if bigger your gas mileage will suck even harder, even if you replace the axle gearing, it will still suck....

GJarrett has a grill guard and body lift.

Ok, I've decided I'm going to go through with the 3" BL. Besides lift kit (853 for my year) and the manual extension (3700), are there any other parts I need to buy? I want to just make the brackets to remount the bumpers properly, but I haven't been able to find the diagrams many people have mentioned on this site. If you know the link can you post it here for me please? Thanks for all the help and advice guys.

on your truck are you SOA with just a TT??..if so look into a slopped body lift(search it has been done..ill see if i can dig up the thread).

I had to return it to stock back in July to pass DC inspection. Then I decided to keep it even so I added Advance Auto Parts shackles, F-150 leafs, and a TT with longer bolts. Right now, it sits fairly even, but nowhere near the height it was with SOA. If you can find that thread let me know because I had thought about doing that, but somehow it didn't seem like doing the BL only it the front would work...thanks for checking.

I went to the inspection station and the guy there swore up and down that the lift laws stated that the bumpers had to be between 16 and 20 inches! And to top that off he said that that meant that the bottom of the bumper can be no higher than 16 inches off the ground and the top can be no taller than 20 inches! He even stood their specially marked yardstick (two permanent marker slashes) up to my bumper and since it was lowered back to factory height it fit exactly between those measurements. WTF?
