Haynes or Chiltons

I'm wanting to get a repair manual for my 96 Explorer XL 4x4. Which is the best manual....Haynes or Chiltons? They could be about the same for all I know.

Thanks,
Steve

You could also download a Ford CD or DVD from WWW.FordCDs.Com. Helm Publications sells the factory repair books. You might be able to find them on EBay.

You can find the ford factory repair dvd on a bittorrent download site for free and they explain step by step like the repair manuals and also includes specific information about recalls and common customer complaints. I have found it helpful.

I like the download idea. personally, I have found both chilton's and hanes to be equally worthless. Do they still make the old motor's manuals? those used to be the best.
