Well I have been a firm believer in Seafoam over the years until my part time job at Mighty Automotive. Mighty has unleashed a new product called Fusion FSC Total intake system cleaner. I was talking to the boss about this new product and my past love of seafoam but he was out to prove to me how inferior it was to his company's new product. I sat in on an hour-long meeting, but before we started, he placed 2 jars on the table, one with Seafoam and the other contained this Fusion FSC stuff. Then two equally crusted up spark plugs were set in each for the entirety of the meeting. Afterward we pulled out both spark plugs to observe them and the one with Seafoam well, didn't look much different, while the other plug looked surprisingly clean.
He gave me a sample to test it in my 1995 ford explorer told me to try it and report back to him with my thoughts the next day. I attached the end of the hose to the pcv intave hose with positive suction (Brake booster line would work too). After about 3 minutes the can was empty and I then poured in the Fuel additive it comes with to my full tank of gas (Ive been using 2oz Acetone/10 gallons in my tank already though) Afterwards I cranked it up and drove around, there was a little sputtering at first but what shocked me the most was that there was no famous Seafoam white smoke pouring out my exhaust! After a couple minutes of driving, she really felt smooth while accelerating and can't really say anything about extra peppiness.
The next morning I walked into his office and immediately asked him why the Seafoam looks like it's working compared to this new stuff that has no white smoke spewing out the exhaust. and he answered me saying that Seafoam just has petroleum in it and that is what actually causes the smoke and that its not actually carbon smoke that is being released.
Anyway let me know of some of your thoughts or experiences. And if you know of some other tests to visually see what the difference are between the products, let me know. thanks!
