You can probably pick up a cherry bomb pro for less than $75 from Pepboys. go with a 2.25" inlet and outlet and you should be fine. I think its offset inlet, center outlet that you need.

You could always take the route I did and go to the junkyard, find and chop a decent glasspack off of a late 60's/early 70's ford f100-f250. Luckily my buddy had one on his property that had a good one on it. But, you can probably get away with 5-15 bucks

I just got my exhaust installed yesterday on my 98 XLT 4.0L SOHC. I left the cats in due to emissions testing in my area. I used a Magnaflow 12268 ( http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/d...rtnumber=12268 ) we re-used the factory resonator and tailpipe (so it remained 2.25") and added a s/s dual exhaust tip.

It sounds awesome. It is just noticeable at idle but when you step on it you can tell its not stock. Cruising on the highway at 65-70 there is no drone in the cab.

video/soundbyte? i considered Magnaflows but i love the throaty sound of a chambered muffler.... i was considering a Delta 40 unless you can convince me otherwise

Finances...... but i've made some money since then, and i'm hitting the exhaust shop this week. on a side note, i purchased a pair of (rear) Edelbrock Performer IAS shock absorbers for my lowered X. They're on sale right now if anyone would like a set! Edelbrock part number 3489! i'll upload pix of the shocks in a separate thread and i'll upload pix and video of my Delta 40 here.

I have an exhaust leak and therefore am going to be replacing my whole exhaust system. I have been reading everyones input on mufflers and stuff and have been doing some of my own searching and i found a gibson exhaust kit (part #19688) Please leave some input on what you think and if no then leave other suggestions. Thank you so very much

This is a 03 Explorer we did a few days ago, all we did was a 14 inch Magnaflow and a 3 inch stainless tip, I used a flip camcorder and my laptop doesn't have the best speakers, so I don't know how good the quality is.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRgq-BEbT04

well, the shop i was going to have install a Delta 40 on my truck said they lost the order about two weeks ago, and i've been by twice since then, and they always say "they'll call me when they get the order in!".... so i'm bout to just solve that problem and find another shop.... so no, my Ex STILL doesnt have a Delta 40 on it... BUT i did get a pair of Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks (for lowered explorers) put on the rear of my truck and i LOVE them, i'm totally about to buy a pair for the front too!
