Hey section,

Im still looking for another vehical and one of my requirments is that it has to be able to tow the explorer. Im still looking into the 250 and the excursion. The thing is that i love a gooseneck trailer because of the way they tow. Does your trailer push or have any other effects with the explorer on it?

I may just go for the excursion

Definitely. I use to tow a 20' enclosed trailer behind a stocker SD no problems. Hauled my Explorer all the way down to Thaven in it because it would be cheaper than driving the X (back when diesel was cheap ).

I've used a V10 Excursion with the same trailer too. It would definitely be good enough for your needs.

If any of you SD guys need a trailer for emergencies, my trailer is a 20 footer rated at 10k. I know a mid 80s extended E350 will just fit on my trailer and that my truck doesn't like pulling that much weight, but it can.

I offically suck at painting. So the bumper trim will be done again. Professionally.

Looks good

A friend of mine did the conversion, but he just bolted the chrome grill in and trimmed the bottom off to fit the original bumper. Even that made a huge difference in the looks of the truck.

Your conversion will be much more complete and hence even better.

Stic - I think the new grille is a little wider. So you pretty much have to change out everything or cut the grille to fit around the 2004 stuff.

I think it was definitely worth updating everything. Problem now is these wheels really date the truck. Something cooler will have to go on soon.

It looks smaller! Just kidding, nice work, as for the emblems, go "custom" with a toothbrush, carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner a rag and some q-tips.

ahh, see I was looking at 18's, but the ford tow info for my truck, says the load rating is lower on trucks with 18's and 20's

Oh and let me know if you come across some SD fog lights cheap, I'm going to try to work some of those square lights into my lower bumper
