2004 mountaineer tires

Hello

I have 04 mountaineer awd 4.6l. It has the 17 wheels on it and stock tires for now. I want to put on larger tires. I see 265/70/17 you guys are putting on the x's > Will the fit on a moutaineer with factory running boards? and will it effect the full time awd on the mountaineer? Thanks

Hello. I also have an 04 Mountaineer with 17's. My tire guy told me not to go over 265 65 17. I too have heard of people using 265 70 17. Have you found anything out yet? I am thinking of having 1 265 70 17 put on the front just to test the fit. I'll let you know what I find out.
