it depends on what you are looking to get out of your system. if you are looking for an entry level system, i'm sure this would work fine. if you are looking for something that is going to last longer and sound more clear/crisp at higher volumes, i would not recommend that package. i personally would not get this set up. if for no other reason, you are going to lose a lot of cargo space. the main reason though is because i have found that with car audio, you get what you pay for.

That's a pretty vague request to ask of someone. What do you define as "good"? Loud? High fidelity? Basic, but expandable? Easy to install? Has lots of pretty lights?

And why does it have to be from this one place?

For your HU you want at least two pairs of pre-outs. Three would be best. You can use that Pioneer HU but if you ever want to power another set of speakers you're SOL.

Pre-amplifier outputs. These let you hook up the system to an external amp so you don't have to hook up the external amp to the already amplified outputs of the head unit. Basically speaking, this makes installing the amp easier and gives better sound.

They're usually RCA jacks on the back of the unit.

i dont really know what you are looking for, but here is a system that is going to make some noise, but not be earth shattering. hooked up and tuned correctly, this will sound a lot cleaner and tighter than most budget set ups.

my girlfriend has this sub in her hummer h3 with only 300w going to it and it pounds pretty well.

here it is.
head unit: ALPINE CDE-9873
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ALPINE-CDE-9...QQcmdZViewItem

sub(one 10"): Alpine TYPE R SWR-1042D
http://cgi.ebay.com/Alpine-TYPE-R-SW...QQcmdZViewItem

amp(400w mono): Alpine MRP-M450
http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Alpine...QQcmdZViewItem

buy an 8ga wiring kit(about $20) and a sheet of mdf($20) from home depot to make a box yourself and you are set.

this set up will run you about $420 shipped to your door.(including the wiring kit and mdf for the box) and i am sure you will be 100% happier with this than with the original system you posted up.

i am a big fan of alpine, but i have been into car audio for the past 10 years and until i find a better product, i will stick with what works best!
