So, I have given up on buying the graphics equipment for now and will be keeping the Zuki.

I got some new/used tires today 205/75 15's Cooper Discoverer ATR's all 4 mounted for $170. They are 3/4 tread, so I am pretty happy with the deal. I really wanted a size bigger, but they are the tread pattern I wanted and the price was right.

ok go to walmart buy a couple boat rollers, then go to ace hardware and get some NUTS & bolts.it'll put a four inch lift right on it.and with the hp that sucker is kickin i dont think you'll have anything to worry about. well probley the axle's because finding gears for a side kick is slim to none.

Well, this little beast is paying for itself now- I am driving ~80 miles a day and getting paid $.32 per mile for doing it, plus my hourly wage . With winter blend gas, I am getting 26 MPG, so I am making pretty good money for driving.

Thinking of painting it red sometime soon????

Well, the water pump crapped out on me Wed. It has been leaking antifreeze for a few days, I pulled it in the shop and started the teardown. The water pump is behind the timing belt cover, you have to remove nearly all the front dress to get to it That includes the radiator, fan and shroud. I am going to replace the belt while I am in there, as it is recommended at 100k, since this has 150k, I think it would be wise. I am replacing both accessory drive belts, an idler pulley and anything else that looks bad, since I have to take that much stuff off, I want to fix any and all things that need it. I am going to adjust the valve lash while I am in there. It ought to run like a sewing machine after all of that.

Your best bet is a full engine gasket kit off ebay--it will have all the needed seals, cheap-

yup
most of them are right behind the sprockets, both cam and main seal--
very simple once you are there-just pop them out and push the new one in

I bought the honda belt and pump kit from that ebayer--

Well, time is a bit of an issue, I can get the water pump from my friend at NAPA for $41, timing belt isn't too bad, I am going to get the belts from him too. I can get the seals from him and have it all in a day or two. I need to get this thing back on the road soon, I have the fender dent issue to deal with on the Mounty. The ebay deal may be better, but I can't wait 5-7 days for parts.

The weird thing is all those gasket sets are for 8v motors, mine is a 95 like the listings show, but its a 16v.

Well, the tear down is complete- the water pump did not fail, the gasket behind the water pump failed. It had apparently been leaking for some time, only got worse recently. I am going to replace it nonetheless since I am so far in. I plan to use a little RTV on the gasket to prevent further problems. The idler pulley had a bad bearing, no pulley was available, so I pressed out the old bearing, bought a $2 bearing and pressed it in. The timing belt was pretty slack, definitely needs to be replaced. I am going to adjust the valve lash, install new plugs and wires as well as the rest of the reassembly tomorrow. Should be back up and running soon.

I replaced the O-ring behind the pump our our Samurai too (1.3L 8v) -- the O-ring on the manifold that distributes the pumped water had small cracks in it (revealed by bending the O-ring). In the process, I also replaced the pump because the stock impeller was just a stamped sheet of metal and all of the bent fins had been eaten away. The replacement pump came with a cast impeller -- much more durable. The replacement O-ring came from one of those HELP packets and came with like a dozen other O-rings of different sizes.

Pump, timing belt, plug wires, belts all in. Valves adjusted and motor reassembled. Its up and running

Boy its a big job just for a water pump.

New plugs, a water pump stud kit and the fan will be installed tomorrow and that should do it.
