Trek Steel 69er: I built this from a steel Trek frame that was given to me when I worked in a bike shop. I built it from a combination of things I had lying around in my personal collection of stuff and finished it off with some choice new components including a Voodoo fork and Avid V Brakes. For those of you that don't know, a 69er is a bike with a 26" rear wheel and a 29" front. The 29" front gives you a better angle of attack going over obstacles while the 26" rear has less rotating mass and hence quicker acceleration. Much like a dirtbike.

You can look at that related thread

I have a mountain bike, I use it on trails and such, and also on road. I ride an older style Trek 820. (with custom duct tape flashlight holder)

My Flat Black Dingle-Speed Commuter: I built this from a Schwinn Columbus Cromoly Frame circa 1987. The 105 Calipers are the originals and still stop on a dime. It's a Dingle-Speed because I'm running dual chainrings in front switched by a Campy Lever and a Paul Melvin Chain Tensioner.

Last but not least, my road rig. A Felt F65, Ultegra components with FSA Carbon crank. Extra cages for longer rides and carbon aerobars for when I'm riding solo.

Thanks! Man that sucks about your bike. I try not to let my bikes out of my sight. At least not that one or my road rig.

Yeah I learned that lesson. I had it chained, but they took the whole rack. aluminum bike racks are a waste of time. They cut the whole section out.

Yeah, the only ones I'll even think of racking, even for a moment are my two steel single/dingle speeds. While a bike guy can appreciate them, most thieves won't realize what they are really looking at.

That is SWEET! I love the mag wheels, too. I wanted those wheels so bad for my bike when I was a kid. :

Nice to see that you still have time for recreation with your senate and primary obligations!

If I wind up doing a BMX build anytime soon, I'll have to keep that in mind.
