Unhappy Brett Favre

I'll be back in 15 minutes when I'm done throwing up.

I told him to give it 2 more years at the Chargers game too.

Keg party at Aaron Rogers house tonight, no doubt.

It was one helluva ride for Brett. Shame it had to end like it did this year, but he had one awesome season, and an even better career.

Just heard about it. Really is a shame.

He was still playing better than most

That's why I have a hard time with accepting this. I've read his books and know his story. I can understand the aches, pains and mental beating he takes. To me he's more than just a great quarterback, he was the quarterback of my favorite team since I was 11 years old. I still loved watching him play in '06 when everybody said he was done. I felt this year was something he deserved, but then felt, why retire now, you're easily one of the top 5 in the league on any given sunday this year.

He's still one of my hero's in life, because he's human with great talent. He's delt with the same temptations, pains and problems we all deal with in our life. His biography that was released 3 years ago was a good book, but probably a little early because the story wasn't finished. We probably won't see Brett on a coaching staff or in an announcers booth, he'll probably spend most of his time on the charities that he and his wife run called the 4ward foundation.

Truly a class act. I hope he doesn't do TV. Something to be said for continuing charity work after you don't have to, I think he'd be the guy that would want to stay home with his family rather than be all over TV for years.

Thanks Brett- for beating the s*** out of the Lions for a long time.

Too bad to see him go. I really expected another season or 2 out of him. Oh well, one less battle for the Bears!!

Sad to see him go for sure, but time to usher in a new era. 2 years ago I said they would be on a 5 year rebuilding plan, so seems to be right on schedule.

On a side note I have an uncle that pretty much bleeds cheese, here is a pic shot in his yard this evening.

I heard Rodgers got the news and pulled a hamstring..out until week 3.

I hope he can actually play and be healthy, he hasn't had much of a chance with Favre's no-sit out attitude, but seems to get banged up whenever he gets in a game.

Heard a blurb on the news yesterday that Rodgers has spent more time on the injured list in 3 years than Favre ever has.

well, being a long time lions fan, I wish I could be happy to see him go, as many times as he's broken my heart, but I still wish it wasnt so. i'm glad he didn't fall victim to the joe montana/mike jordan scenario, playing half assed ball in another city, he is leaving at the top of his game. But hell, if you're still that good, why quit?

He is (to me) easily one of the top ten quarterbacks of all time and personally the most respected player in the NFL. It is a sad day to see him go but you know what they say quit while your ahead

AAAAARRGH Anybody following this saga? This isn't a good time for anybody involved, I'm not saying I'm losing respect for Favre, but I'm seeing a guy who has a remorse about his retirement and can't accept that Green Bay needed to move on after he announced he was done.

It's anybodys guess how this will play out, but I for one can't even speculate. Ideally, what I would love to see---Aaron Rogers step up and say that he wants Brett to take the lead role and that Rogers will take the starting role next year. That won't happen, even if it did GB management is probably getting pretty offended at the stuff Favre is putting all over the press.

As a die hard Packer and Favre fan, this is driving me nuts.

I understand both points of view on this both his and the Packers. I don't believe they will release him that's just bad business, a trade is the only thing that will work with their future plans. It seems he wants a Release so if he decides to play again he can go where HE wants, not where he's sent in a trade, which I don't blame him in the least.

As much as I would love to see him give it a few more years, my personal opinion is that he should have stayed on his tractor hayin his acreage in Miss. In my eyes this is all kinda making him look like a real hard ass, that's a side of him he has never really shown before. I would hate for to see lack of poor judgment (retiring before he was truly ready) and everything that has come along with it, tarnish the otherwise clean image of an NFL great. Now don't get me wrong here I WILL watch Brett where ever he ends up playing, if he even decides to actually play again, still sounds up in the air about it when it all boils down.

Favre did a lot of good for the Packers but the Packers did a lot of good things for Favre and they payed him a damn good salary for it.

Do I want to see Favre come back? Sure

Do I want to see Favre play someplace else? Nope

Do I want to see Green Bay win? Yup. They need to do whatever they can to make sure that happens.

I agree Eric, he toyed with this for 4 years, pulled the trigger and now regrets it and is ruining his image.

I guess I'm a freak of nature since I'm a WI native and couldn't care less about Favre or the Packers. I only live 40 miles from Lambeau Field and have never once gone to a game. The only Packer game I ever went to was in Arizona when they played the Cardinals. I was on vacation out there at the time, and some friends had tickets so I went. It was the hottest NFL game in their history. It was 117°F at kickoff!
BTW, the Packers lost.

I hear about all this garbage on the local news every night...It's usually the top story. I'm getting fed up with it all.

Brett should stay retired while he is on top...he'll live to regret anything else.

Man, I'm still pissed about that game, that was the first Packer game I went to and I can't believe they choked like they did. I must have sucked down about 20 brewski's in that heat.

It was funny that all the Packer fans were complaining about how hot it was that day, and that it was almost inhumane to try and play in that heat. I simply said that it's no different than if the Cardinals were to come to Green Bay in January when it's -10° outside. Homefield advantage, plain and simple.

If you were at that game you remember the huge pair of panties draped off the upper level with the sign "Hey Packer girls, have some more cheese"! I laughed so hard I almost pissed my pants when I saw that. I still have a picture of it somewhere. It's pretty accurate though...I live in a state of fat assed white trash women.

I was told that it was cheaper for people to fly out to Arizona, get a ticket for the game, and fly back than it would have been to buy a ticket for a home game. I remember we had awesome seats about 6 rows up on the 20 yard line, and they were like 30 bucks. Those same seats at Lambeau if you could even get them would have probably cost several hundred.
