Overheating problem with a/c

when I push the a/c on and turn the air to cold my car tends to over heat. Does anyone know what to do.

The compressor works the engine a little harder but it shouldn't be by that much...

Is your cooling system in good shape?

Yeah, if you already have a cooling issue then the added work could be a problem.

What's your temperature gage look like when the A/C is not running?
