So, I got a welder and air compressor for the shop recently- I got busy and cleaned up my ole trailer, welded on some new fenders, sprayed it with gloss black. It turned out really well.

The old and then the new:

A close up of the fenders- BT93 helped me paint- for cheapo implement paint it laid out pretty well.

And, the solution for dragging the flat connector- Its a hoppy brand product, snaps over your connector, has a strong magnet that holds it to your trailer or whatever. I have one on my truck and trailer, the magnets hold the wire to the tongue while towing, the one on the truck tucks the wire up neatly under the bumper. Good stuff.

What kind of mileage do you get pulling a trailer like that?

Best $300 I've spent. Thing pulls perfect empty or loaded with plenty of clearance for getting to that perfect hidden campsite.

The Navajo gets 17 on the highway (37s and 4.56s), I would say it gets around 10 with the trailer depending on terrain. I think that is what it got last time I towed it up to the mountains and back @35 over the pass! It was really bad when it had the auto. The manual pulls it much better.

Nope ended up not buying it, the wife and i will stick to tent camping for a few more years, i live in an appartment so storage is an issue with a larger trailer and the T@B was the largest i could go, just to expensive, they wanted almost 11k for it, i offered 8k. Dealer refused my offer.

...I'm not sure if it's still available but it would be worth storing at an RV storage...

i just emailed the guy, hey thanks for the tip, that trailer looks fantastic, and plus i only have the 1 1/4 inch hitch so that trailer wont break the max weight.

Winter project I haven't started yet...

Needs to have the roof removed and reinforced, its smooshed in a bit, but doesn't leak. Yet. And I need to replace one lift and the cabling for the lifts. My wife will make new seat covers and curtains to replace the mid 70s decor. I'll put new tires and wheel bearings in it, do a spring over since I'll be pulling it with my lifted ZJ. And new trailer wiring and lights.

Then we'll upgrade as we see fit during use, eventually I'd like to add electric brakes (the ZJ brakes need help), and rear bumper for my other winter project...

I once saw an old travel trailer for $800. That might make a good project in the future, but I don't really know anything about trailers so I'm sure the refurbishment would be an adventure in and of itself.
