Nice Trac bambangs.

I hate Georgia red clay. If it's really packed tight, you may as well try to drive off road with racing slicks.

Sorry to posted quite this from forever ago but for a ST that is lifted with a 3 inch suspension and how much trimming will I need to put to fit 35s?

Yup I hate clay. No traction and it stains everything on the inside.

Looks like I'll be trimming a good bit in a month or 2. 35x12.5x15s are in the works!

Just think of how much fun that red clay is when it rains; its slicker than owl Sh!t on linoleum.

Oops sorry I meant doing 35 with 6 inches in the front and about 5-5.5 inches in the back?

That's more lift than I have so I'd say maybe less than I did. I have a thread about it with something like "35 KM2s Installed" or something like that. Search it out to see what I did.

Wheel choice is going to be the biggest determinant besides lift.

The more you can tuck the wheels inside (higher backspacing), the less trimming you'll have to do toward the outside of the wheel well which will be more cosmetic. You have to worry more about rubbing on suspension and steering components and the frame more, though.

The lower backspacing you have, the more you'll have to trim near the outside to get the tire to swing into the wheel well. This gets more into pushing you toward cosmetic trimming. The only examples of lower backspacing that I know of (John Rock and TxPlates) ended up removing all their cladding front, sides and rear. Some of that was a preferred look, so it's hard to say what was actually absolutely necessary. I just know that I've seen guys with 33s and the same amount of lift as me having to trim more than I did because of their lower backspacing.

I have 17x8 Pro Comp wheels with 4.25" backspacing wrapped in 35x12.5 BFG KM2 tires. The trimming wasn't terrible and all of it has been non-cosmetic so far. I still find more areas needed a little extra trimming when I get off road every once in a while. I contribute the nice fit to the 4.25" backspacing because it pulled them in enough that they aren't catching on body panels at all and don't touch any of the steering or suspension parts. All of my trimming has been plastic in the wheel well besides the pinch weld directly behind the rocker panels.

I have a 2005 sport trac and I am planning on getting a 4" superlift and a set of 33x12.5x20 Cooper Discoverer STT tires and I am just wondering if anyone has a set of these or similar tires have you had any problems with turning or getting the tires to fit?
