Question How many Miles?

Hey guys,
I am looking at a few different ST's to buy, but I kinda wanted to get a feel for how long they will go... I can get one with less miles, but the price goes up. So, If they are strong and reliable for a while I might just save a little cash and get one with a little more miles. So... How many miles do you have, or have you heard of on a ST?

Thanks guys
Brandon

Ive heard of some lasting 165k and some lasting 30k. It just depends on how it was driven and what kind of maintenance was performed. If you can when you try to buy a vehicle, ask to see all the maintenance records and also see what kind of person drove it. An adult driven vehicle will probably be more maintained and not beat up engine and body wise. Just be smart and use common sense when you buy a trac. If they are treated nice and drove smoothly and taken care of, they can last a long time without needing major work done.

Also, with rising gas prices, more and more Tracs are going to come onto the market and some people might have low mileage but they will be willing to dump there Sport Trac for a fewer hundred dollars so be patient and make sure you get the best deal.

Good Luck

I have 101,000 miles on mine. Only spent about 50.00 in the last 3 years that was not routine maintenance. Good luck!

76K on my 2002. From what I understand the 2003 and up have less cam chain issues so I'd stay above 2003.

Somewhere around 68,000. Only problems I've had were pre-mature failure of lower ball joints (40,000) and the most resent were both the front wheel bearings went out within a month of each other Other than that, I love her, she's my S.L.U.T. (sport light utility truck)

I have an 2005. Only had it a couple months. 75,000 miles currently.
There are alot of Ford Trucks on the road....many live to 300,000 miles
Just change the fluids frequently, plugs and wires ...just like any other vehicle
they'll last a while.....

108K on my '01 Just did the injector o rings and intake gaskets at 106k, got the complete maintenance record from the previous owner and he did front wheel bearings at around 95k and had changed both front axles as well. I bought it with 101k on it and have only had it 4 months ( daily 80 mile rt to work)

I have 04 ST 4.0 OHV with 180K no issues except the rear end, but I think that was my doing. I had to replace the rear end at about 130K...Love my ST
