CAN 1997 Explorer Lockers?

hey guys, does anyone know if i can put front and rear lockers in my explorer. i have that auto-trac control 4x4. cheers

When I was 18 years old, I damn near died because of a posi in the front of a 4WD. I have never, nor will I ever, own a vehicle with a posi in the front end since. Maybe if someone were strictly rock crawling, but otherwise, it's a deathtrap on slick side hills.

I guess that didn't answer your question, did it. Sorry. There are threads all over this site regarding front and rear diff swaps. You should be able to find your answer there.

Yes.
You need to disable the auto 4x4 with a front locker, since the only lockers available up front are automatic lockers (aussie or lockrite).
Search. Lots of threads on this.
Also try searching "brown wire mod".

I've got exactly what you are talking about, front and rear aussies, and they work fine with the brown wire mod.
