Hi all. I'm new to the site and thought I should introduce myself. I am new the the Explorer scene, but have spent plenty of time with Rangers. I just bought a 96 Eddie Bauer Explorer. No mods yet but they will come with time, it's an addiction I think. I can't seem to leave anything alone. You can check out some of my Rangers on my cardomain page at:

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/573556

I'll get a pic up of my Explorer as soon as I can. It's good to be here, this seems to be a very imformative site. I've been a member of The Ranger Station for quite some time but it is nice to find an Explorer site that has all the stuff that this one does.

hi!

i'm also new to this forum. my name is michael and i live in good old germany; pretty close to the dutch border. i own a blue 97 highclass. surfing the european explorer site i somewhere read about this forum.
did u know that an explorer can go between 180-195 km/h??? i bet it could go faster than that, but unfortunately it is kind of "electronically braked" at this speed. anyhow i think this car is not made for speeds like that.....

oh...and forgive me my poor english...at least u cannot hear my german accent!

thx
michael

hi mike!

a friend of mine in the netherlands owns a xlt. the difference is, that the highclass has e.g. sunroof, console with outside temperature/compass...so all in all its better equiped.
by the way -> all officially explorers sold by ford germany have 4x4. and we don't have the 2-door version called sport.....
oh and of course there are differences between the us model and the eu model such as: lighting, km/h tachometer, ... and many, many more.

anyway i like my xp; it's a great car to drive and i have already been offroad serveral times. only got stuck once..but that's another story!

Hey all,

New to the forum, though the explorer isn't new to our family. I just inherited my Wife's '00 XLT. The car is in pretty decent shape. It needs a little bodywork on the lower skirts from hitting [something], perhaps some touch-up paint here and there, but at near 130k miles she's still running great. First order of business is to clean the upholstery since the fabric is starting to show a little grime, wear and tear. The car is a pretty high pedestrian zone so the carpets will need a little cleaning, but I'll get her to sparkle yet!

Welcome to the site everyone. You can also get the sunroof and overhead console in a XLT. I wonder if the Highlander is the same thing as an XLT just a different name?

Talking one more to the outfit

What's up all!!! I've been looking at this site the same hour I drove my X home. I can honestly say I have only seen 1 lifted explorer in this neck of the woods. Hopefully soon I will be the 2nd. Have fun and be safe!!

Just joined on. Gotta say, lots of cool stuff here. I own a 2001 sport trac which I recenlty modified. Right now, it has a 4" Superlift, 3" body lift, tt-shackle lift, k&n intake, and Super Swamper TRXUS 35's. If you need advice on lifting your trac I'm sure I can help... installed it all myself. Still looking at exhaust/engine mods. I could use some advice there.
