Hey I'm new here, I actually picked up a 2000 ford explorer xlt on a trade and to be honest the kid wasn't all that smart, this truck is in excellent condition and the car I traded him I paid $500 for lol. I'm going to be lifting it soon (tt, shackles, body lift) and I'm doing 33's. Now my question is I'm doing 15x8 wheels with 33x12.5 tires I have the factory fender flares and would like the wheels and tires to stick out, I'm horrible with the backspacing and understanding it any help would be wonderful, Thanks in advance. here's couple pictures.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I added some HIDS and soon to add HID fogs as well, Ill have to snap a pic of em when it gets a little darker out for ya'll.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

Thanks for having this forum.
I have a 90 Aerostar 4WD with 310,000 miles on it.
I was a Ford Master Technician until 99 when I quit due to the frustration of being paid flat rate. I have a small computer business now in the small mountain town of Quincy CA.

Welcome to this forum! Please check the Aerostar section on this site. The link is in my signature. Does your Aerostar have the same engine & transmission or was it rebuilt at some point?

Smile New member

Hello everyone:

My car is a 1999 Merc Mountaineer 4.0L SOHC 6 cyl,143000 miles stock.

I purchased this car in October 2007 with 85,000 miles. I have been testing my product for 49,000 miles.

I am currently developing(3years) an after market device to improve performance(power),reduce emissions, and improve highway fuel economy.

My best on Long Island Highways is 27 mpg, 55-65mph for 137 miles, light air, 88 F, A/C and fan full cool, 34psi , no cruise control 1pm to 3:30pm Sept 22, 2010.

All owners that I have spoken to have not done better than 20 mpg.

I am curious what others are getting on their highway and in town driving both summer and winter runs.

Your feed back will be very helpful. Thanks Bob

US New to site, on second explorer...

; I just purchased a 2003 XLS 4X4 and as I researched how to fix a few problems I came across this site. I thought it would be a good place to search for info on the explorer when needed. So far, it has been great. Thanks to all those that have posted information on how to DIY problem analysis and repair. I had the "door ajar" light constantly lit on the instrument panel and someone posted an easy and quick fix to my problem. - Mark
