CAN Hello Fellow Explorers

Hey here we are and by we I mean we the family. Our '01 Sport-Trac has taken us some pretty cool places. I have a SOA rear conversion done. Front TT lift but that is not going to cut it!! Either Solid Dana 44 going in or the Superlift kit........ glad to hear a debate on which is better. Rear Power-trax locker going in as soon as the front is done. Standard 4.0L with the 5R55E Automatic. Running 32" Cooper Discoverer ST boots. Rigged with a CB Radio.

We have Catahoulas as our four legged friends and Geocache under the same name as our user name here.
Check you later!

Hi! I'm Cris from Saudi Arabia. I'm a second owner of a 2005 Explorer and I really love it. Good to have this site where I can perhaps find answers to some things I need to keep my vehicle in good shape. Cheers!

So far I have cleaned out about six bushels of acorns, two dozen half chewed plastic bags, & enough half eaten dried produce to start a new compost bin.

I have found & repaired at least a dozen wires that the rat had chewed up, replaced the battery & starter & driver & F passenger seats.

It is now running & my next project is squaring away the vacuum system. (I need a GOOD diagram) Or at least as much as I need for proper engine & brake operation.

I also think that the brake booster may need to be replaced, first I will replace all the check valves I can find & see how that turns out.

Once I get the Explorer “Road Worthy”, my son will be using it to get to school & work.

Oh, incase you are wondering, my username is from my Personal Ride, a 1975 Pontiac Grandville Convertible.

My name is John. I just bought a '97 Explorer - Eddie Bauer edition - yesterday. Big upgrade from the tiny Tercel I used to drive - LOL!

Was missing the spare tire assembly, but was able to get one from a pick-n-pull locally. Gotta put it in this weekend.

My buddy pointed me to this forum. Just wanted to say hey!

John...

Hello, I am a new member who needs to rebuild his transfer case (ran out of oil and chain stretched) there is a griding sound. This will be a project with my 16 year old son. I am very mechanical but lacking the steps by step manual with pictures and solid instruction. I am assuming this can be found on this site. I am so far very impressed.

G'day all

I have a vintage (95) XLT which is missing (as of the last repair) the passenger side washer nozzle and hose. Someone musta needed it more than me. So my wife doesn't like her smudgy window and has commissioned me to find a new nozzle (or even nozzle set) and hoses - without getting hosed by a Dealer!

Anyone here know where they might be found? Local junkyards seem to be void of '95 Explorers!

Not only that, but the rear passenger doors can no longer be opened from the inside. Body shops tell me that I need new locks, latches or both - to the tune of $216+. No way, Jose! I'm shopping around for a Haynes Repair manual to see if I can figure out what's actually not working.

Anyone know if later models (96, 97, etc.) have identical parts? (washer and rear doors)?

Any help will be greatly appreciated - and my wife will stop beating me.

Hello AFINTERNA

put a shot gun to FORD !!!

I joke see if it already happened to other people.
$ 7000 is excessive you will have to negotiate with Ford to 60 K this is not normal I think
