Last summer my Explorer started bucking really bad and i replace that Idle Air Valve, it drive fine until today where I found myself down in the middle of traffic on a very busy highway, fortunately i had a spare in the back and after replacing it was able to drive to a local parts store. Can anyone advise me on what causes it to malfunction?

I used to fix ex em back in the late 60's and 70's, and just wondering if the door panel just snaps off, then you pull off the paper shild and now you can see the window track. Is this still the same or is it a nightmare now to glue one back in its track?

You have to upload the photos to a hosting site such as WWW.PhotoBucket.Com, and link them like this: .

New to the site

Hello Everyone! I am new to the site. I have a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 4x2(my First Explorer), a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4, and a 2004 Explorer XLT V-8 4X4. I am crazy about my explorers. Put 3 tranny's in the '96, but still love it. The '96 has 237,000, the '01 has 167,000 and the '04 has 75,000. Just keep the '96 for sentimental reasons. Love the Sport Trac (probably my fav) and the '04 is loaded, so I use it to cruise in...lol. Anyway, joined today as I am having an idling issue with my Trac. Will find the appropriate forum to post my questions. Thanks for a wonderful site!

Hey Fellas,

New from CT and more of a -gasp- Willys and Kaiser fanatic. I have owned more than my fair share of Explorers. I currently own a '98 sport, two door with a 5 speed. It is an awesome little truck and I hope to see a few of you guys around.

Red Exp Dash Lights

Hi - I have a 97 XLT - I'm the first and only owner and I've put most of the 134K on Suvie myself. But now things are slowly starting to not work. The currently most annoying - inconvenient - issue are the dash lights. I'm hoping to find some help here as to what the cause might be and how to (hopefully) fix it without needing a straight jacket. Many thanks in advance.
