Put 3 tranny's in the '96, but still love it. The '96 has 237,000, the '01 has 167,000 and the '04 has 75,000. Just keep the '96 for sentimental reasons. Love the Sport Trac (probably my fav) and the '04 is loaded, so I use it to cruise in...lol. Anyway, joined today as I am having an idling issue with my Trac. Will find the appropriate forum to post my questions. Thanks for a wonderful site!

It's hard to see the numbers on the photo. Do both numbers have the same amount of digits? How many boxes are on the registration card?

Hey I really love this forum, much better than the Benz forum really direct. Ive learned so much and did so much to my explorer this week I had to say thank you for welcoming me in this community. I literally am broke from school and bills but getting my explorer 4 400$ must be a sign things are looking up. Anywayz thanks again and you will hear from me again.

Hey all

Hey everyone. Just picked up a new explorer and poked around online and found this site. Been driving a 4dr for 3 years. wrote it off unfortunitly. Bought a new one and started all over again. This time with some different goals as its a 2dr. Strange vehicle. 5 Speed (thank you mazda) 4.0L...... Requires 90 octane plus for some reason. I think the heads are shaved. But its a fast truck. Very tourqy. Have a few questions and what not. Especially my check engine flashing and my engine pulsing from time to time. And a weird leak at the heater core. But hope you guys can help out with that.

Hello everyone, I just bought a 96 4 door xlt in pretty rough shape (204,xxx miles). It ticks, idles rough, wont go over 30mph, has rusty rockers and Rear 1/4 panels. Im new to explorers, and this will be my first project truck. I was hoping someone could give me some direction on where to start first?

Hello all,
I have just found your site and decided to join afte recently purchasing a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. A good buy I thought as it has never been off road (the inside guards look new still) and apart from a couple of carpark dings, looks and drives nicely.

However, just found a couple of issues mechanically with it, and I was hoping with my next post, someone might have a suggestion or two for me.

So thank you for letting me be part of your forum and looking forward to the tapping the knowledge of its members..
