New to forum, not to Explorers

Finally had a few minutes to post here. Picked up my 2011 last Monday night.
Placed the order on Jan 14 and after 8-weeks was a proud owner of the New Explorer. What a car. I spent three evenings getting to know the car and all the features. WOW. This car should sell for $60 Grand!

New Guy.

I've had my Explorer for about 2 months now, and I'll be damned if it isn't the pluckiest little SUV I've ever encountered. I'll probably drive it straight into the ground...And even then I'll probably keep it...I'll have it bronzed and displayed somewhere...

But about me, I'm a high school senior living in Colorado Springs, CO, trying to do what typical high school seniors do. Work, plan for college, get in trouble, get good grades, and have some fun.

Finally-a new GIRL!

Hey guys-

Thought I'd swing by here and post to introduce myself. My name is Andrea and I live in Maine with my boyfriend. Had my sport trac since 08 and now it's time to make it look like something other than a rollerskate! I just posted in another part of the forum with a question on leveling kits and suspension lifts because in Maine they've just outlawed body lifts if you have ABS-ugh! Any help would be much appreciated, as my boyfriend is not exactly a ford guy and prefers the older stuff to the "new technology" (we have a 68 scout, a 78 gmc, 82 rabbit, and a newly acquired 85 military blazer) So see, I NEED YOU!!!!!!

Thanks

Good afternoon from Caracas, Venezuela, I recently bought a 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4x4, with some details which I hope to correct with the valuable assistance of members of this forum. I look forward to your support just as I will also try to bring topics in this forum. Thanks in advance.
Excuse my English but I am using a google translator.

Dk Exp New Guy

I'm not exactly new to this site since my previous vehicle was a Mazda B3000 so I've been on here before to look up things before since its basically a ranger. I decided to upgrade to a little more family friendly ford being the ford explorer sport. I'm interested in a few quick tricks on getting my mpg up a little higher w/o spending $100's. Anyone have any ideas.

Thanks for the welcome

My name is Randy and I live in Los Angeles. I have a 1999 XLT that is in pretty good shape, but starting to rattle a bunch and needs updating. I want to start putting some work into it so I can pass on to my son this year when he turns 16. I am looking for tips and ideas on re-sound proofing, new radio/stereo technology (ipod connectivity and maybe integrate back up camera system). The engine, body and interior are solid, so some minor work will make it usable for quite some time. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Great Site, smart nice people...

I'm new, though have used the site quite a bit for our 2001 and 2002 Rangers as well as an Explorer we chopped up for Burning Man.

I am always amazed at how much amazing knowledge is shared (for free!) by the great regulars here. You have built a nice community that usually gets scraped and linked pretty well by Google when I am looking something up.

truly appreciative...

Greetings all

Hello, I just purchased my first Explorer, a black '99 Sport 4X4 with the dreaded (as I've been reading) 5R55E automatic transmission. Amongst my previous vehicles were a '91 Bronco Eddie Bauer, an '87 Bronco XLT, an '84 F-150, an '83 F-150 4X4, a '90 Ranger 4.0 4X4, an '88 Ranger 4X4, and a '69 Mustang (fastback, of course, my first car). I have also had some vehicles from other manufacturers, but the only one I feel like mentioning is the '87 BMW 325 that I am going to be turning into a BMW 350 with an '87 5.0 HO motor and T5.

I have a long history of greasy hands and busted knuckles, so I'll probably be asking (and later answering) how-to questions. Don't worry, I've already found the sticky on replacing the valve body gasket in my transmission. I have also read much of the thread on Al Franklin's (aldive) quest to improve the mileage of his Explorer, and was saddened the I wouldn't be able to converse with him directly. From his posts he sounded like a great and knowledgable guy.

Anyway, I just joined so I figured I'd say hi to everyone.

Jonathan
