Hey Everyone, Just bought my 2008 Sport Trac Limited on Wednesday. I saw this forum come up many times when I was doing my search, so as soon as I bought mine I knew I had to join. I currently live in New Jersey, but go to school in the Bronx, NY. It is my first truck (previously I had a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL), so I'm looking forward to learning a lot here. Thanks for everything!

Hi everyone! I have just joined, but I have used this website previously to fond info on repairs for my 93 ford explorer xlt. This website was so helpful that I decided to join so I could get my specific questions answer.

I'm a chica who loves to work on her own vehicle and can't bring myself to pay someone else to do it, although it is sometimes hard to do repairs with a manicure! My current problem is my god forsaken locking pin in the hub nut so I go forth now to create my own thread...Laters

MANY thanks for the welcome! And NICE to be here I assure you too! I am as the badge says From the UK and happy living in France. (Take it from me the UK is stuffed BIG TIME now!)

But just got me this HUNK of a car and now I gotta fix her! Mainly due to adding around 51/2 thousand revs into the drive from a standing start! Due to my BIG feet alighting on the throttle as opposed to the brake pedal!!! OH DEAR!! Will I NEVER learn eh? Anyway looking forward to swapping stories!

Regards]

I just bought a 2011 Explorer limited. It was a choice between the Flex, Edge and the Explorer. My previous vehicle was a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was a great riding vehicle with very good acceleration. The only thing wrong was it was homely lol, not up to date appearance. Now, this is why I picked the Explorer.

Flex
Nice riding vehicle with lots of room. It is a homely looking vehicle.

Edge
Nice riding vehicle. Good appearance. It would not hold what I carried in my Grand marquis.

Explorer
Nice Riding Vehicle. Very good appearance. Storage area better than the Edge. The person that designed the cup holders should be fired. The console cup holders are large in diameter and deep. Coffee cups with handles do not fit. The cup holders in the front doors will only hold McDONALD type coffee cups. Large cups and water bottles due not fit.
When my wife drives, I use the rear console cup holders.

The message center requires care. Special cloth to wipe off the finger prints. I went to Best Buy and bought ZAGG protective coating and cut it to size. I bought the larger one and it is enough to cover two.

I found this website by searching how to remove the third seat. Based on what I have learned so far. I will not be removing my third seat.

I have less than 1000 miles and really like the Explorer

Welcome new Member. Congrats on your New Explorer. But I'm just curious, what makes you change your mind about removing the 3rd rear seat?

I read on this website or another that it is a major task. One person removed the side panels along with the 3rd seats for his bicycles. If I feel the need for more storage a car top carrier may be the answer.

just registered 5/5/11 - 1994 limited and 1997 sport - both bought used. read post about fuel pump checking procedure since 97 stopped working. everything fine one morning when moved 97 ten feet to use 94. 97 wouldn't run four hours later. will be transfering fuel out of full tank to get to fuel pump. looks like people on this site very helpful.

Oh, I thought you had to put Bikes on the roof, or hinges behind the rear lift gate. I never knew putting Bikes inside of an SUV was an option. Your better off securing your bikes on the Explorer not in it. If I bought a brand knew Explorer, I wouldn't be interested in taking it apart.

Storing Bikes

I am pretty sure he had some very expensive bikes that were very precious to him.
