Hi everyone!
Just thought I'd say hi I am absoluty brand new to all of this so might take a few days to get used to it but sure I'll get there in the end ha ha
Well I have just bought a 2000 ford explorer and that's about all I know don't even know the model but will update you all when I find out, the site looks good and loads of info so happy so far well I'll be looking at the site all the time now am hooked and I'll find out more about the truck for next time I am on well that's hello for now any way

Hi everyone. My Name is Nick. I am posting from Sevierville Tn. Its pretty obvious why I am on here I have a 1996 Ford Explorer Limited. I am going to get back in shape.

Anyways I bought it for $800

I've been driving back and forth for two weeks to work in it. It was bought as a 3rd vehicle to keep miles off of my truck and the wife's car, and be able to tow the boat and family to the lake.

I've already utilized quite a bit of knowledge off of here.

Converted the air ride system to standard.
Fixed the Lamp out module.
Cleaned IAC and Maf sensors.
Changed oil.
All kinds of broken wires in the steering column leading to MFS switch. New harness clipped from pull a part and new MFS installed.
Plugs and Wires.
Ohh yeah I bought it with the AC compressor missing. So I got a Compressor for Pull a part $25 Accumulator $20 orifice tube $4 3 cans 134 with oil charge $35. Now I have ice cold AC (much needed as its breaking 100 F).

So much thanks.

Who knows maybe I will be able to contribute something.

All that and I have only had the truck for 2 weeks. Hopefully soon I can stop working on it and start enjoying it.

Until then I still have to get the interior lights working I work midnights and having no interior lights bites.

The only switches that work for power windows are the ones on the drivers door. Found broken wires in the door but I can't get to them to repair.
Got to love jumper wires in the fuse box with no idea where they go or what they do.
New tailpipe and muffler needed.

I have my work cut out for me. But she runs like a top and has started every time on the first twist of the key. Well with the exception of the day I bought it BUT she only had about a half of a Gallon of Gas in here and was parked on a steep incline.

I'm a proud owner of a 2007 4.0 L EB Explorer, just bought it a week ago ! currently living in Saudi and comute around mainly between work and bahrain.

Well came accross this website and now I am a member, Hi to all. I own a 2004 sport trac and am looking to put a suspension lift and 33" tires in the near future. Any body out there with similar intrests?? Thank's

It would be rally cool that we could have a world map showing the members from each country, i wonder how many country's are present here @ explorerforum.com??....Also in the smiles there's only a U.S. flag and Canadian flag we need to add more Flags form other nations.

Got a preatty good back ground in automotive, shade tree type.
48 willy PU as a rod, 94 50lt Mustang convert,
but my pride is a 54 chevey belair convert.............

hence my handle.

The vehicle in question that led me here is a 93 XLT Aerostar that I am the original owner of.

Stored for several years and wife decided I should put her (the van) back on the road.

Hey, everybody. Should have joined this site years ago. I was on the Offroad Rangers site for a very long time and I am also on the TRS site. Offorad Rangers went bye bye after the owner got sick and never did anything to maintain the site. I heard he died sometime last year.

I have an 02 Grand Cherokee 4x4, an 06 Wranlger X and a 99 2wd Ranger lifted with 33x12.5 KO tires. I also have my 87 Samurai with a 1.6 L motor that I am getting trail ready still.
I have visited this site for so many years to view photos of the Rangers and Explorers. I gather mush info from all of you at times to help out my buddies from time to time if there is something I don't know how to do or where to get it from.

I don't know how to use these threads and get really frustrated trying but I guess I'm not really new. Looks like I joined in 2008 while looking for a solution to some problem and never came back. Any way I'm from Pittsburgh, cheap as hell and just found an 85 mercedes 3.0 turbodiesel for sale for about 1800 bucks and would be interested in putting it in my 97 explorer 4x4 with 5 speed manual tranny. Obviously, how hard is it to mate these two mudders. I would appreciate any actual experiences with this particular swap if anyone has done it. I'm semi retired and have the time to chase down the used veggie oil and work the strainer etc if I can mate this combo. Thanks in advance and appologize if i seem irritable. Just skated for two hours and didn't eat much before hand.
