Me the D, checking in...

Hi all y'alls!

Dan from "up nort" in MN, checking in--not exactly new though, just never got around to posting in the New Member thread.

I'm a repeat offender, having owned the following:
94 XLT - aka, the Exploder--original, right?
99 Sport - which I wish i coulda kept if it sat three in the back
95 EB Bronco - irrelevant I know, just a fan of the big Bronc's, too

Currently "'slummin" in a 97 Mounty, which is in the process of being murdered out in black-on-black urban/digital camo.

Another newbie to the forum. I'm currently driving a 2003 Escape with 110K miles on it and a 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 with 187K. I'd like to get a newer or possibly new vehicle but haven't decided which way to go. I'd really like a Mustang GT but I also need a 4WD that seats more than 5. After doing research on the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport, I'm thinking that may be my answer. I'd get my extra couple seats, still be able to do some modest off roading and enjoy some serious acceleration (assuming the 0-60 time is in the 6.0 to 6.5 range).

Howdy all,

My name's Shawn, I live in Reading, PA. I bought my 2000 explorer XLT (2nd gen. right?) around November 2010 for my (now ex-) wife after her Accent was totaled. It's got 80k on the clock, 4.0 and if I remember correctly, 3.73s. It's bone stock and is currently serving commuter duties seeing as it gets much better mileage than my Jeep, which upon my repossession of the explorer, got promoted to "Toy" status lol. Speaking of, my other vehicle is a 93 Jeep YJ 4.0. 200k miles, bunch of bolt ons, 4.5" lift, adj. shocks, lights, bumpers/tire carrier all that noise.. I do all the work on my vehicles unless it's something overly complicated.. like a tranny rebuild etc.

My goals for the Explorer will probably be frowned on by you hardcore guys but hey, I've already got an off-road rig!

I'd like to keep it a street vehicle and improve the aesthetics of it seeing as it's going to be pounding pavement: upgraded speakers & throw in a head unit, better headlights (if it's possible!) and maybe some auxiliaries, flowmaster, and maybe a REAL front bumper and not that crappy factory one haha; There's an off-road fab shop very close to me. I'll be looking for a way to lift it maybe 1-2" stiffen up the suspension and probably throw some 31x10.5's on there for a wider footprint.

Anyway, that's my schpeel. Looking forward to learning on the forum!

Hello to everyone! Dave here. New to the Forum and I live in Central New York state.

Just bought a 93 Ford Ranger Splash short bed. Put a couple of hundred dollars into it and it's running great so far. Whoever the original owner was took really good care of the car, especially the body (next to no rust on it). Still not quite used to the "pickup truck" ride compared to a car, but I still love finally owning my own pickup.

Hi everyone! I just purchased a 2013 Explorer Limited with MFT and navigation. I was wondering if anyone can let me know if the home screen on the MFT system is customizable. I have heard rumors that there is supposedly a "shortcut" screen but I have not found that and I'm not sure if that applies to the new versions or not. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum breckart.
As far as I know, the Home screen can not be customized. It is what it is.
I suggest that you come over to the following thread and you can post your question there as well.

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...play.php?f=152

By the way, there is a new update available for the MFT (MyFord Touch).
It is V3.2.2. It replaces V3.0.2. Check with the dealer to ensure it has been installed. It has just been released so don't let the dealer tell you that V3.0.2 is the latest version.

Have your parents register on www.syncmyride.com as well. That is where you can find your current installed version of Sync and any available updates.

Peter

Peter,

Great! Thanks for the information. I also want to say thank you for thinking I am young enough to require my parents to register for me but unfortunately I am older than that and have already registered on the website for updates. I have also downloaded and installed the latest update from the website and everything is working great!

My apologies about that registering part. I got you mixed up with another member. Guess I shouldn't post that late at night.
Good luck.
