Tenneco's warranty staff is very nice, and professional... if you need to return the items, they'll tell you exactly what you need to do.

I wonder if it matters that my boxes were all taped up for shipping, and subsequently were torn apart during opening. I hope not, because I think they're going to have to live with them being put into another box.

Well, for some reason the front wheel diameter and tire size are expected to be specific applications. I don't know why or what, but seeing that it took Rancho a couple of years to get a QL strut for the EX would suggest they couldn't really figure it out either... but they put the thing out there because everyone was asking for it, and for some it works fine, but for too many, the bunnyhop is what they get. If I had an answer or solution, I'd ask Tenneco for a cut in the profit

(A shipper) boxed mine up in boxes from another brand strut... I had no problems. When you call, ask for Lou... she'll work out the details.

Thanks for all the help man. Hopefully I'll get this thing right eventually. It's 1AM here on the Eastern Shore, time for me to hit the hay.

To somewhat answer your question IZwack

The ride is stiffer because of the fact the coil is being compressed more. The reason you can adjust coil-overs is beacuse you are simply compressing the spring and making it stiffer, which in turn lifts the vehicle. Compressing or cutting any coil spring is going to change the spring rate making it stiffer. If a spring was at a constant spring rate you would either A be riding your bump stops and snapping your springs from coil binding them, or B be bouncing all over the place because there so stiff. In theory road bully's spacers should effect the spring rate a little since there will be some compression of the spring, but it sounds like the way rancho engineered their "coil-overs" it compresses the spring WAY to much. If your set on being able to adjust your ride height I would give king or sway-away a call about some real coil-overs, that have a wide variety of spring rates avaliable. Im sure either company would be more than willing to design some for the 3rd gen(they just need to make a mounting adapter).

True... True... I guess if there was any good to come out of it, it would have to be that: A.) Rancho's Customer Service is A-1 quality. B.) Like Donner said before - the back QL's are good to go. C.) QL's are so expensive, I'll get my RB spacers, a new set of Rancho RSX's for the front, and have them put in for the price that Rancho is going to refund me for the front QL's. Just sucks that I have to deal with the bounce for 3 or 4 weeks while I wait for the RB's. Good thing I hardly drive this thing anyway.

On a better note, the doorbell just rang and my other toys came in anyhow. Eibach 30mm wheel spacers to put those rims right out to the edge of the wheel well where they belong!!

Thats awesome to hear that Rancho stands by their product and are returning your money sight unseen(although im sure they are well aware of the problem). Goodluck with the rest of your build and im sure you will be more than satisfied with Road Bully's spacer, I will also be going that route when the time comes.
