A few tears here... I'm not sure it if it's allergies or what, but that Ex looks fantastic! Wow!

hitithard, some of the Exs work perfectly with QLs front and rear... yours is one. But the problem is a Ford issue that won't allow certain Exs to operate properly. I'm happy yours is working out The ride is as smooth as they say? Did you get the electronic control device?

I got my Rancho RSX's in for the front. Just waiting on RoadBully now. Ordered a pair of 1-3/4" Powdercoated RB's for the front. Can't wait to get the front QL's off.

Anyone with RB spacers feel free to chime in here... How much of the three bolts needs to be cut off the top of the front strut assembly to fit inside the spacer? I ordered 1.75". Also - how long did it take you to get your spacers after you ordered them?

NO bolts to cut (some advice, put the top bots through the spacer top mount then attach spacer to strut, then bolt up to the truck. do it this way because with the small spacer you have you ont be able to get the top bolts through the hole with the strut bolts alreay attached.)

About 3-4 weeks

I used 1.5" spacers, and had to cut about 6mm (1/4") off so you may just get away without needing to do that on the 1.75" spacers. You will only know once you try.

I fitted the spacers onto the strut first, and then refitted the whole assembly back into the truck - not sure if that's what Chris meant, but it worked for me.

I'm getting 2" spacers anyhow... so this should be a non-issue. Now... HOPEFULLY my front end wont end up sitting higher than the rear. I think I got about 1.75" front and rear lift with the QL, measured right after installation. I just went out and measured again, and it appears the back has settled a tiny bit... but I'm still about .5-.75" higher in the rear. So again........ with a 2" RB spacer, I hope I'll sit about even (maybe down in the front a hair) and not too high in the front.

Finally... All Done! It rides great now with QL's in the rear & RSX's in the front (w/2" RB). A lot of work... but worth it.

Pics are on page 2 of this thread. That was with QL's front and rear. The front is now a little higher than in the pic. Truck sit's about level now. I'll take a few new pics when it finally stops raining here.

NEW Pics

No full truck pics yet... but, the lifted height (wheel opening) on front end. Rancho RSX shocks. RoadBully 2" Powdercoated Spacer. The last pic shows the angle (after installation) of the upper ball joint. Some people wanted to see the angle on 2" spacers.

In the above pictures you'll notice a couple things - First, with the 2" RB spacer, there is plenty of room between the wheel spindle and the coil spring. With the wheel spacers (I'm running 30mm Eibachs)- there's room for a wider tire (at least a 275/70R17... possibly a 285). And last but not least, the angle on the upper ball joints is not that bad compared to a 3" RB lift.

How do you like the rsx's by the way, compared to the stock shocks?

There is plenty of space from the spindle there... that's my main concern...

You know, I don't know that I could post a fair review on them since they were installed on a modified truck, but I will say that my X rides at least as well now as it did before I started messing with anthing. A lot of the "harshness" of the stock tuning has gone away. They seem much more beefy than the stock tubes.

See pics earlier in the thread. It's already lifted there. I'm just a little higher up front now.

I'm thinking of selling this truck... I want a pickup again. Wonder what it's worth in the real world?
