Performance Mod's

So I have a 06 Explorer Limited V8 which I believe is 292hp and 300tq. I'm looking to add the following modifications this weekend. 1. Magnaflow Exhaust 2. K&N Cold air intake 3. SCT X3 tune. With these three mods could I notice a difference in total feel of driving in my truck?

You should be able to. Search around the site, plenty of info for getting a little more power!

Yeah you should notice quite a bit of difference, it'll be a different explorer after those mods, especially after sct updates their software to support your transmission.

Anyone have sound clips of the magnaflow muffler? And anyone have pics of the engine bay? I want to figure out if an Explorer intake would fit on a Mountaineer

I can have a sound clip of my magnaflow for you this weekend. I have a 2006 281 v8 3valve should sound sweet. I'm going to install a K&N cold air intake this weekend also. You want a stock air intake photo or a K&N installed photo?

Not a big fan of the K&N filters....

I have the "Nocturnal-Perf" intake and it looks and works great!

Green Filter should have thier drop-in filter out soon too!

Look into Zabteck Performance and get thier Throttle Body, great throttle response and a little better performance!

If you like how the F150 sounds, you have the same motor in the V8 ex, the difference in stock power (292 ex, 300 f150) is due to more restrictive exhaust on the ex....so you'll have a sweet sound, and with the other mods you'll have a noticable difference in power.

So I have all the parts I called my local muffler shop and they didn't want to quote me for the install of the muffler. I might just jack this baby up and install it my self it's a catback straight to the factory no welding or cutting just unbolt and bolt back on. Nothing major right?

You got it, just make sure to clamp it all down tight.

my magnaflow catback came with clamps from factory. I saw the setup it bolts to the factory cat and the pipes slip into each other till the tip and I apply the clamps provided.

I have heard that the diff between the two is that the heat shield provided with the fipk wont fit with the merc because the merc has an extra sensor. Dont know if its true or not. If its the case, I'm sure the heat shield could be modified to fit, or a new heat shiled could be made/bought. I would love to get confirmation so I can just get one to complete my more power/mpg mission. Already have the Magnaflow ordered.
