Plan My Trip!

Ok so I'm not gonna let you guys plan my whole trip, but I would like some input. This summer a few of us are planning on loading up and heading (west) from quad cities iowa (right on the mississippi). We are planning on a week long trip of wheelin and exploring, maybe squeeze in some fishing. So since none of us have headed (west) before, we want your input! Things we are lookin for are places to ride, amazing sights, a shower once or twice :p (we intend to camp the whole week) so what do you guys got for us?

Well if you were going to head south I know quite a few places down this way that you could go. Just a thought.

I've headed from Wisconsin to Colorado. There is some of the best 4 wheeling I've ever done up there.

Trails I'm glad I've done in my lifetime
1) Holy Cross Colorado (camping at Camp Hale is pretty amazing to go with it)
2) 21 Road Grand Junction Colorado (plus several other good trails in that area) about 2 hours west from Holy Cross
3) Moab (only about 2 more hours west from Grand Junction) which is simply amazing.

That will definitely give you the taste of everything. Make sure you are loaded up on supplies. Spare shafts (driveline and axle) for every truck in the group. It sucks to get that far from home and break stuff you don't have. You will possibly need it on those trails, but don't be scared, they are some of the coolest trails you will have done in your life.
