EX PS pump in Ranger?

I read a post here a while back about installing a certain year Explorer PS pump into a Ranger (because it's QUIET, unlike mine which was installed by Ford and still whines loudly), but you have to relocate the remote reservoir. Seems easy to me. Anyone know about this?

Our 2000 Explorer PS pump is completely quiet.
