Is there a way to keep foglamps on with highbeams?

Lightbulb Is there a way to keep foglamps on with highbeams?

I tried to search and found nothing. On my 07 Explorer sport trac when I turn on the high beams, the foglamps go OFF. I would like to have them stay on. Is there a way to do this? I dunno why Ford designed it that way, seems it would be better to have both on.

OK, guess I searched for the wrong thing, I called them foglamps and came up with nothing. For future reference I am linking the 'FOGLIGHT MOD" search to this topic:

http://http://www.explorerforum.com/...archid=3406847

I will try the relay mod, as wiring appears to be similar to mine, and post results...

Be sure to check local laws though- the reason they designed them that way is becasue in most states, it is illegal to have them on at the same time.

Joe, Who would ever know? Since its is illegal to have your high beams on when approaching traffic.
Besides, i'm not too sure it is illegal anywhere.

Well, that way of modding the relay (Mustang link) won't work on mine as not wired the same...

Precisely.

I love this mod and it was so simple on my '99.

it is illegal in mass. to drive with fog lights on unless the weather is inclement. My nephew was pulled over for it. It sounded like an excuse to stop a kid on a Friday night. So I asked a friend of mine who is a state trooper, he confirmed there is a law. Also said that he was not surprised he was pulled over " they are looking to stop anything with a pulse" on friday night for a excuse to check for drinking

Where I am it is illegal to have fog or auxiliary driving lights operating when the high beams are on unless off road. Fog lights are most effective when used with low beams and if you ever had someone not dim when approaching you ( and you have!! ) imagine if they had a few million more candle power aimed your way.
