Question New h/u but no sound....

I just put a new stereo in my truck today but i cant get any sound out of it. My oem stereo was the 18C815- Midline AM/FM/CD (1998-2001) and i replaced it with a sony CDXGT530UI. The stereo powers up and works fine but i can not get any sound to come out. I double checked my wiring and i believe it is all good to go. So what do i check next? I checked fuses and those checked out fine. So any help would be appreciated.

Also i dont think i have an amp.

Oops scratch that. I was looking on the passenger side and i see something hanging there in the rear compartment just in front of the pocket back there. If thats an amp how to i wire it then? I will try searching again.

If its anything like a 94 you have to get a harness to bypass the factory amp. I had the same problem but after i got the bypass harness it worked great.

Thanks for the tip. I feel stupid now. I went out and hooked up the two blue and white wires together and now it works. Turns out thats needed to power on the amp which i do have. If i would have know i had an amp this would have been simpler. O well. Thanks for the response though.
