An old, really muddy pic I found:
[/QUOTE]

i was just checking out your rig; someone linked your front bumper build.. which is sick.. anyways in this picture the light pole is lined up perfectly with the roof of your ex and it looks like youve got a giant cb antenna up there.

I can honestly say that I had never noticed that. Lol. Thanks for the compliments.

Well, I broke something else. This is a ford factory part, found used in a JY for 5 bucks. Though I will say it has served me admirably the past year and a half it has been on the truck.
This sort of thing should shortly be a thing of the past, as thanks to rookieshooter, I now am the proud owner of a used set of the heavy duty warn hubs, the jeep conversion ones. Kinda neat that my truck will have parts off of one of the coolest rigs on this site.

so the big brown truck showed up at my house today. It brought me one of these:Millermatic 211 with Autoset and MVP. Can't wait to try it out. (Oh, got the spoolgun too, that should be fun)

not quite, but light fab stuff is a good way for me to keep in gas money during school. I needed to upgrade from my lincoln weldpack 100. Besides, I paid alot less than that, and it came with the spoolgun, so I can weld aluminum.

I need a decent light welder I can use to do some small fab work with...is the weld pack a good choice?

I really like mine, its just that the duty cycle is only 20% with the amperage cranked up all the way, so it really got old when welding thick stuff like my bumper. I would sell you mine for a good price, but I'm keeping it since it is so portable, I've used it lots of times for field work, both in construction, and for stuff like trailer repair. For your use it would be about perfect. Keep an eye on craigslist, you see them on there pretty often, usually for <$300. I paid $150 for mine.

so it's been a long while, but some things have changed. My black '91 is no more, I still have it, but after it broke a motor mount, got run down a column in a parking garage, (I didn't do that BTW) and then puked its clutch slave cyl, I stopped driving it. I did however find a nice white '92 on CL for $500, 4 door, A4LD, 1354 E-Shift, Auto hubs (which amazingly worked), 3.73 LS. It had a very delayed engagement into forward, but still shifted. I drove it for 2 weeks, and then the trans gave out entirely, so now I am correcting ford's oversight and putting the extra pedal they forgot, along with the M5OD and 1354 Manual out of my 91. Eventually I will put the disk brake axle out of my '91 and the winch bumper. I already swapped over the 31's to a set of 2nd gen teardrops and mounted them on the truck, they look great on the white truck. These are the only before pics I have, I'll get some afters when I finish it

Once I finish pulling parts, I'm going to scrap the '91, which with scrap prices the way they are, should make up for most of my purchase of the '92. Not to mention I found a core buyer through work which will allow me to offload my collection of bad or questionable auto trans for some cash. I have a bunch to get rid of, 3 A4LDs, one 2.3 mustang, the other 2 4x4 explorer, a 4R70W out of a Grand Marquis, 2 4R55s, and a couple others I can't think of off at the moment.

thanks, it should be a good truck once I get through with it. I've got to install the driveshafts, rear T-Case flange and my new clutch master cyl, after bench bleeding of course. Might have it rolling tonight.

Got some after pics now, still a work in progress, but got the tires and rims done, as well as the manual case manual trans swap. Been getting close to 20 mpg too.

And some after pics of my black 91.

The body damage down the driver's side is evident in this pic, the fender and quarter were like that before the gutting commenced, and the doors had matching damage.

Ooo very nice work on the white truck. Too bad about Blackie, but at least its parts will go to sustain other users' Explorer addictions.

That white one is sharp! Sucks the black one had to die but as mentioned, it'll help others live on.
