Ok so I'm getting close to getting my truck I already know I'm ditching the pearl going for straight white with a sliver flake in the first layer of clear. Thats 100% already decided on. So on top of that I was going to copy Tim's flames...

Shown here:

I have been talking to the best painter in Alaska and he told me that blue flames on white paint would look like ****. So what I need help with is some pictures of ideas for flames or other graphics on a white truck or car just something white. I found this...

Do you like?

Can you all find some ideas and shoot them into this thread? Preferably on a white truck or car so I can see what it looks like.

-Cheers!:salute:

I do not like the ones on the white truck. Not at all.

I do love Tim's flames tho. Could you do them on yours in black?

See I don't like the white truck either. But I was just throwing it out there. See I was thinking black too, but would that look like a cheap WalMart stick on?

I dont see why they would look that way if he paints them like Tim's

He just emailed me saying this.

About the only color that will really look good is black smoke fire. When you do other colors on a white background you loose its vibrancy and it gets real milky looking. It really doesnt have the same effect as on a black background. Just picture the whole bonfire thing. go on google images and look at pictures of a bonfire in the daylight and then look at the one at night.

Yeah i understand what he is saying.

I would do black. Then you can do a black and white color scheme

Ha your a little behind now arnt you! My truck already has the black and white theme on the out side ;) Black head light, tail light, inlay on the bullet grill, little stuff like that, so yes then I guess black smoked flames would be the best :) I was just thinking blue because my interior of my truck is the dark gray leather and accented things with Cobalt blue :) Black it is! But I still need some photos of it on a white car or truck think you can find any? I tryed and came up with nothing.:salute:

danny, are you totally set on true fire, or do you want something like a traditional flame, or even tribal flames. imo, you can do more with traditional or tribal flames, but true fire looks soooooooo much cooler.

True fire is what you have right? Yes if I do black its would be smoked fire witch is real...I would assume.

yea, i have true fire. well, why don't you try this. mike lavallee is the guy who originally created true fire (or the one who is credited for them as far as i know). here is his web page http://www.killerpaint.com/index.html . drop him a email, and see what he would recommend, or see if he has some pictures that are not on his web page that he could forward to you.

danny, i just found this. i started to watch just a small amount of it, but check it out. i am sure there will be something in there that will catch your eye.

btw, i just googled mike lavallee, thats how i found it.

hey danny, i called kevin (the guy that did my flames), and he said the same thing. you would have to go black, the reason being is that you cant spray candy on white. it would change the color, and look funny. he didn't have any other colors to suggest, only black.

Yep the way my Kevin(painter) said to think about it was:

A bonfire in the day night is kinda blurry

A bonfire at night(dark background) it amazing looking.
