Ham Radio - CB - Trail Communications I have found that fourwheeling and ham radio go hand in hand. Post any questions or comments about the great hobby of amateur radio here. Of course CB'ers are welcome also. Ray, AE6H and Joe, N1LVN both moderate this forum.

SWR is a Term For Standard Wave Ratio, if you are talking the antenna I made a custom bracket off the drivers side tail light No cutting of the body was required. I ran the CB at The Colorado Colors Run and It worked very well. I will try to post pics of the installation when I paint the bracket.

Sorry about such a late responce..

Yes I am talking about the "Standing Wave Ratio"; the question is, have you had it checked.
Once the CB and the antenna is installed, the coax is run you need to check to make sure that the SWR is at the lowest point it can be called Tuning the Antenna.
How, you need to get an SWR Meter, put it in line between the CB and the antenna and test it.
You need an SWR of 1.5 or less, preferably 1.1 to 1 is the best SWR you can get and it would be nice if you got there but can't but maybe depending on the antenna.
The antenna mount needs to be grounded well against the body, on the bumper or where-ever, so check it with a multi meter set for continuity.

When you get the SWR reading let us know.

Good Luck,
