Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, and would really appreciate some help with an auto trans question. I have a "95 with a dead auto trans. What other year transmissions will bolt in and function properly? I am going to search for a good used one.

Thanks,
Jay.

Most junkyards have access to the Hollander interchange, which will tell them what will fit. It's not perfect, but it's usually accurate. Just call a local junkyard, tell them what vehicle you have, and they'll know what you need. They will ask you the yr. / make /model,engine, 2dr or 4dr, and 2wd or 4wd and possibly the production date. The production date will be on a sticker on the driver's door.

thanks, Carguy3J
It happens to be a four door 4x4 4.0

A '95 is the only one AFAIK, it was a ******* tranny from what I've read...

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the transmission section. Look for a 4R55E from a 95 or a 96. The later years have a 5R55E. Some members have used them, but you will need to change some parts.

Thank you.
I will get it all figured out soon. I was just looking for this thread and had to ask for some help finding it.
Great forum here guys!

Take care,
Jay.
