From what I've seen on the boards there really isn't one. There is one member that I know of that bought a set of prototype lowering springs and put them on his truck however they were $600.00 or so to only go 1.5 inches. I can't justify that.

The problem with the 07 up is the way the IRS is designed with the axles going through the frame.

Truckin magazine ran an article in 07 about a complete build off an 07 XLT model Sport Trac. (same suspension) It was lowered with air suspension.

That thing looks great!!!! But I wonder if they can drive it with it lowered more than 2"? From all the buzz around that is the limit because of the IRS setup.

LOVE my drop springs on the '08....good purchase since they are the only ones out there! Supply and Demand!

BBR has talked about gettting a full suspension system made but they are allll talk from what I have seen.

05 fit an 07?

I know there are no lowering kits for an 07 explorer. I have come to terms wit that one, but I was wonderin what are the diffrerences between the 05 and the 07. If i get a set of 2005 drop springs for my 07 would they fit? What kinds of modifications would I need to do? Or is this just not even worth my time.

Not sure if they will fit or if he'd mail them, but you might try giving this guy a yell. They are 2" lowering springs off of an '02.

The springs from any Sport Trac before 07 will not work, completely different suspension.

Lowering '06 explorer

Uin2it,
i noticed in your mod's you list 1.5" drop springs, what kind are they and were did you find, also was their enough adjustment to get the alignment correct. I'm thinking of cutting a coil off each spring to lower but don't know if there's enough adjustment.
Anybody?

Got it down a little

I just finished changing all 4 struts, 78,000 mile's, (rr was leaking), not a bad job it went well, any how i decidide to cut a 1/2 coil of all 4 spring's (chop saw, quick,no heat) reinstalled and went for a ride down some good bumpy road's (to get suspension settiled in), had the alignment done, no problem's. End result about 1/2 inch drop in the rear, and almost 3/4 inch in front, not a lot but it does give an idea of how much it might drop with a full coil off, not sure if i want to do that. Ride quality seams unaffected, maybe slightly stiffer but that could be the new strut's. Also note that the rear strut's body come's all the way down to the mounting flange(rubber sleeved round thingy), on the front the body of strut stop's and there is a short "leg" before the mount, if you look the "leg" is just welded to the mount you could just cut the mount off then cut approx. 1" off bottom of "leg" and reweld to mount, you would get a true 1" drop. Maybe next summer when i get some 18" rim's i might try this front mod instead of cutting any more coil's......good day!

just bagging

Hey guys, I was the one who started this post, the reason why people(manufacturers) arent making the drop springs are becuase of the old firestone tragedies. Unfortunately no one wants to touc the suspension of these SUVS which is complete bullshiz. I am in naples fl, and i have a company audio intervention that will do a complete bag system for 3300. Kinda expensive, I am thinking me and a buddy of mine can do it for around 2000. But they are fantastic, I have personally seen their work and they are amazing. no cut corners, no expense spared. that is why they are a little on the expensive side. but if anyone is in the naples/bonita/ft myers. Florida area. check them out. I am seriously considering letting them bag my x. More to come after christmas with better paychecks and such.
