I'm afraid you guys are more hardcore than me. I might own a 4WD, but my off-road days are limited and mostly in the past. I wanted it now to keep my family safe in the occasional snow we get in North Texas and possibly haul a boat occasionally. I like hearing about all that but even in my Jeep days I was only a mild off-roader. Loose beach sand on the space coast of Florida, dirt roads, that sort of thing. I'm sure you have figured out by now that off-roading is an expensive hobby...

I would like to find a replacement cargo-cover for my "Sploder" though! I am in the urban off-road world now and mine is missing. I got this truck because my Ram Quad-Cab was stolen twice since spring. It was time to find something that thieves like a little less!

Found site doing search. Great site with tons of data. Not a Ford person, got a 98 Explorer sport 4.0L OHC when owner did not want to pay for rear end r&r. Not a bad truck has death rattle and minor quirks. It is a shame I have zero interest in pulling motor and doing work. I actually like the truck but as a second car not worth my time.

I found the site a while ago while looking for SAS info. It, along with all the tech info, drew me here. I hope that this site provides the greater amount of info for completing my project.

Just bought a 2002 XLS 4X4, have heard alot of things about Explorers, not many good things but after doing some research on the forums here decided to go out on a limb and buy the truck, plus I got a pretty good deal on it and it is super clean as well as had a good carfax review. I do alot of offroading with my 88 Blazer fullsize but wanted something I could travel around Texas in and do some light wheelin/mudding. I am apart of many forums because I have alot of toys and this one is well put together and look forward to learning from some of you, thanks!

Cool This forum rocks!

OK guys, this is my first post, so please take it easy on an old lady. I just replaced the driver's side seat belt receiver, using help from postings on how to do this. Found it on eBay for less than $30. I am so pleased with myself! My husband had said that he'd do it tomorrow, but I wanted it done today. Thanks for the help!

I have a F150 electrical problem and i was just googling around to find a possible answer, but to no avail, then i came across this site.

My truck keeps blowing the 175Amp fuses. Install a new one every few weeks, and then it'll blow again. Only thing i can figure is i have a short somewhere. When i apply a brake, the interior cab light will light up.
