Hi there

Sorry guys, I just registered to this useful forum and I have a problem in my Sport trac that I need to solve and need some help..

I have an Explorer Sport trac 2001 (2005 in Venezuela)... last week I took her to complete a service on the fuel injectors and also replaced spark plugs as she is very slow to pull up.. I have checked everything else and can not find the problem... also when driving around 60 o70 KMH and I try to accelerate to activate the OD then the RPMs goes to around 3000 the car goes to 80 or 85 KMH for abit then the engine's light comes up on the panel and i have to desaccelerate..any ideas...???

Somo more comments: the lights of the "check engine" signal only comes up when I try to accelerate hardly for 5 to 10 second where the car does not go up, it just I hear the engine throtling up bu the speed only goes up from 10 to 15 KPH more, then it is when this signal is on intermitently, it stay intermitently (flashing) there for about 15 to 20 seconds while I see the power of the engines comes down as well and then the lights goes off... it is very weird... and I started to notice this since I went to the mountains and the sport trac slowed down on the inclinated roads when going up, I could not go more that 60 KPH at full throttle... that is why I took her to service the fuel injectors and spark plugs with not inprovements...

Thanks in advance for any help

bencolgate I work at ford as a automotive tech here in new mexico it kind of sound like the spark plug gapping is wrong and its not letting the cylinders fire correctly i would check that first.
