Did you check the fluid level or the pressure with a 0-300 PSI test gauge?

The shop is telling me it was about 3 quarts low. My trans dipstick was showing a good level (slightly over crosshatch). The are rebuilding the trans now, so we'll see

A low fluid level will prevent it from going into gear. Why did they decide to rebuild it if they saw that it was low on fluid?

May not be a full rebuild, they are going to tear it apart and see if anything needs to be replaced. I'll find out tomorrow what exactly is going on inside it.
Thanks for any and all input.
