Brushless emaxx... anyone build one??

I just saw the Brushless Emaxx edition on the traxxas site. That thing is insanely quick!!

What do I need to do to convert my standard emaxx to a brushless??? Has anyone here done this?

All you should need is a brushless motor and compatible ESC. They sell them in packages. I'd look into the Castle Creations products.

Geez, they're aren't cheap are they... Looks like $350 for a controller and motor... Maybe spending another $300 on top of that for a brand new rig wouldn't be such a bad idea. It's just VERY hard to justify that right now

Damn. Almost makes me want to pull out my TMaxx and fire it up again. I haven't touched it in about 7 years I think.

Wait one second. If you have a newer e-maxx with grey chassis and shocks which is the 3905 i believe, then a brushless setup can be dropped right in. But if you have an older edition the 3906 whith no grey on it, then you will need to do some drivetrain upgrading big time from tranny to driveshafts and maybe diffs as well. Alot of people also run a brushless combo from hobbycity which they really like and i think the whole set up only runs you about 150 dollars or so.

I have an old one with a black chassis Char and I were just talking about it and it's probably 7 or 8 years old.
