5r55s leaking

Just wanted to get some insights on a little problem I've begun having.

I've recently noticed that my 04 EB 4x4 is dripping a little tranny fluid when parked. Just a few drops really, and it seems to be coming from the bottom of the trans where the bellhousing meets the motor (there was a drop hanging from that area when I saw it)

Took it to the dealer and they did a filter change...they thought the fluid might be coming from the vent hole as a result of getting too hot....perhaps because of my electric fan. I don't really see how that is, given that my Scanguage tells me that my trans fluid stays around 160-170 and my coolant temp ranges between 195-200.

So is 160-170 the magical "trans fluid puking" temp on the 5r55s? I was seeing this same temp before I did the electric fan swap, but I thought I might switch back to my clutch fan for a while just to make sure.

Anything else that might cause this kind of leak...front pump seal maybe?

Did a bit more research and it looks like the Mustang guys run into this puking fluid issue from time to time. Not sure if that's what is causing my issue yet.

Place a piece of cardboard under your vehicle to help find the exact location of where it's dripping. Did you check the coolant level in the radiator?

I'll park it over some cardboard to see what comes up. Coolant's good from what I can tell.

No more leaks yet...though it does look like it was due to fluid venting from the top. I put my clutch fan and shroud back on to see if that makes any difference in preventing it from happening. Driving around town it looks like my trans fluid temp on the scanguage is the same but my coolant runs 3-7 degrees cooler than with the electric fan.

I think my black magic 150 fan is too small...will probably replace it with an HHR fan when I get an opportunity.
