Front CV Driveshaft Rebuild Kit

My boot tore and my CV joint filled with mud and self destructed. I don't have the money for a new one and was checking eBay and seen this - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...6860&viewitem=

I am gonna order it and let you know how it works. I did not see anything on here about this so I figure it is new...

Very interesting.

Please take pictures of your attempt at this, if you can.

Well presented write ups are usually rewarded.

Will do! I am ordering it tomorrow morning and will work on it Saturday! I will take pictures and do a write up! The guy at this company http://www.fwdaxles.com/ with this place being part of it http://www.drivelinesnw.com/ said to buy it on ebay because it is discounted heavily.

Just get a shaft..rebuilding cv is tough..balls and sockets wear..you need to match sizes or grind sockets to spec like in a rebuilders plant...

Those are axle shafts, not drive shafts.

Topic of thread is front drive shaft, front prop shaft, or another term, front drive line

Looks as though the CV head is replaceable. The driveline shop I went to told me that the head was welded to the shaft... Looks like they may have been wrong. I may have to get one soon...

Just digging up an old thread trying to find the info... Didn't you do this successfully and do a write-up on it? If so, I can't seem to find it and need it ASAP...

Thanks!

FWIW, I found a seller in Georgia on Ebay who is selling the parts. Looks like it should be a pretty straightforward job. I suspect I'll see the part early next week and will take some pics as I go.
